Q. Should I flash this OS considering my Bold is unbranded? would it cripple it in anyway?
Q2. Should I flash the one in the sticky or this one since I'm on vodafone (better Bold performance)?

Under About I see no package version...the search continues.

1. Loading a new OS won't cripple your device.
2. Doesn't matter which, if you install the Hutch version, be sure to delete the vendor file as instructed. Otherwise, the releases are the same.

Gotcha, but what worried me is the Orange Bold for example where there is no BBMaps. Or is this to do with something else other than the OS?

What I have now is the same Application and platform numbers (4.6.0.126 and 4.0.0.135)
and yet when I launch BBMaps it tell me I don't have BIS (I do have) or BES amongst other little problems.

I believe BBmaps is a problem on Orange is blocking BBMaps regardless of the OS, they don't know the OS. BBMaps is a service book push now.

Ah cool, thanks man. I'm a bit relaxed now.

Even though I have the same version numbers, I think I'm gonna flash anyway to get rid of any bloatware like Navigator from CPW.

One last Q before you go J..since all of the OS are the same why are there Network ones? like voda, orange etc? is it just stuff like wallpapers and whatever?

I promise I'll help with the wiki or BBFFAQ

There is not difference in the base OS. The only difference might the vendor loaded theme, or similar.

Typically an OS version refers to the Application version, not the package version since there can be more than one package version with the same application version, so this should really be called (and titled) v4.6.0.126. This is also because the Application Version is the number use in the About screen - along with the Platform Version which for this is 4.0.0.135, but who wants to use THAT number!

Also, the OS is available from 17 other carriers around the world!

It's worth noting that with the advent of OS 4.5, there are no longer different Language versions as there has been in the past (YEA!). All languages are supported in every version 4.5 and higher, so while even RIM calls it Multilanguage, there's no longer any need to do that.
