Blackberry 8310 Reboots While On Call
Please Login to Remove!
Hi, I have a BB 8310, Things were Hunky Dory until ii upgraded the device software to Latest Version 4.5 on the blackberry website.
Its an AT&T UNlocked BB and i am in India using it on GSM Network.
Though the new version has features like Video Camera & Doc to go but the phone keeps on rebooting whilst i am on calls and takes about 2-3 minutes to come up.
It doesnt reboot any other time... It only reboots when i am on call..incoming or outgoing..no specific time... just reboots... no error on screen...
Please Help!!!

I'm just guessing at things to look at.
If you have a media card, remove it for a while. See what happens.
Check your free memory. What is it?

I asked about free memory on the device. As I say, I was just grasping at things to check. Too low memory causes problems. So, worth checking. But you're good.
Likewise with the memory card. Remove it. See what happens. Don't know if a bad card could cause the problem you see and not cause other problems, but it's worth a look see, perhaps.
Have you done anything around the time the problem started, like install a new theme, a new application?
Is there any apparent pattern as far as what you have running (look at what may be running in the background) when the problem occurs? Start making sure you exit out of/close all applications when you are done with them. Don't leave anything running. See what happens.

I updated the device software to v4.5.0.110 and when i checked log using ALT+L,G,LG ... it gives me 2 errors:

2)E net.rim.browser - S BHelper___Exception---- This will lnot cause rebooting

As previously stated, try removing the memory card and see if that helps. I understand you formatted it. Just to narrow the issue down.
Check this thread out for more information:

I downgraded my OS version to 4.2.2 from AT&T and since then the machine has been working absolutely perfect Thank You Friends for your support. At one point in time i thought i will have to sell it off but thanks for saving me money folks.

Same Problem
BTW- I have seen the same problem on my 8310 since I updated to v4.5.0.110, as well.
It seems to always reboot when I am on a call in the presence of a wireless computer network at a school, office, hotel, etc. Never happens when travelling on the road.

Hehe yeah mine has some trouble near computers as well.
I dont know what the heck it is, but when I would be at our studio working on some recording or mixing, if my Curve gets a text message, or a BB message, or ANYTHING to do with data, it somehow always made my firewire Lacie hard drive disconnect from my Mac..
I have no clue what causes that or why it would interfere with the firewire bus but it was like clockwork. Every damn time it got some sort of data message (and actually I think it did it a couple times when I got a phone call) Id get a popup on the mac telling me my device was improperly ejected and data might be lost yada yada.. Luckily I was never actually playing back or recording any of the times it happened.

Thats totally a co incidence. 8310 does not have a Wifi sensor and thus that should not interfare. its just the new operating system which is making the phone unstable. downgrade the software and it should work just fine. Mine is perfect eversince i downgraded.

That may be because of radio interfearance caused while receiving a text/call.
Other that that there shouldnt be any reasons for the disconnection.
