The USB port in my 8800 took a hike so I picked up an 8900(my farewell to my 8800 is
here)
Well, long story short, I don't have the 8900 anymore, so I pulled out my 8800 and went to work.
Huge thanks to the guy who made this video. I wasn't sure how to get that last plastic shield off without damaging something until I found it.

As you can see in the first picture below, the shield and all 5 pins lifted from the motherboard. I pulled the whole connector off and carefully bent everything so the pins would be pressed against the board when I re-soldered them. I also re-crimped the shield so it held the plastic connector firmly in place, it was fairly loose(the 2 tabs folded down that kind of form a W shape, there's two more on the bottom). A little bit of solder and voila, It's ALIVE!!!
