Default BlackBerry Storm 2 9520 gets leaked pictures

Please Login to Remove!

Found on the BenezBlog, we saw that they have gotten their hands on a BlackBerry Storm 2 device, giving us a better idea as to what to expect from the device by taking these great angled images. We have had images of the so-called Storm 2 as a 9550, but it appears this is GSM version. The Storm will finally make its way to carriers such as Rogers Wireless, T-Mobile and AT&T Wireless.

How do you figure that? It appears to be a Vodafone version, but they have the 9500 already, so how do you conclude that it will be available through T-Mo or ATT?

Personally, I'm interested, but I'll be more interested when I hear a Verizon release date and some specs on physical dimensions, CPU speed, how the touch screen is different (in detail, not just vague one-liners), and battery life.

I'm not very excited about this.
I really like my storm. I might want the new for ATT's 3G, but wifi is no big deal for me, and I really like the "click" screen, I get a lot fewer unintentional selections than with my wife's Iphone.

WiFi was no big to me, either. Then, twice in the last couple of months, I've been places (for extended times) where there was no cell signal at all, but there was WiFi available.

I imagine I'll be upgrading to the Storm 2 as soon as I can.

It will be available for Rogers and AT&T, not sure about T-Mobile though.

With an improved version of the SurePress click screen technology, Wi-Fi, misc hardware tweaks and OS 5.0, I'm totally psyched about the Storm 2!!!

I just hope Verizon offers an upgrade discount. Don't really want to spend another $200 on virtually the same phone. But I don't know if that would really stop me from getting it.

Isn't the 9500 that is already available through Vodafone a 3G GSM phone?

Yes. But its 3G Data only runs on the HSPA 2100 mhz European frequency so you will only get EDGE data in North America.
The Storm 2 is rumored to have HSPA 850/1900 mhz North American frequencies so you will be able to get 3G data.
Another plus, Both Bell and Telus are launching their HSPA network very soon, so you can unlock it and use it on whatever service provider you want.

You know that RIM usually finds auctions for unreleased devices before they end, then has ebay remove them and provide the details of the person trying to sell it so they can take appropriate action, right?

Plus I've heard of pre-release ones being locked somehow by RIM. Also, some of the early S2's didn't have wifi.

Default Cant Wait

I really love the storms keyboard and the screen. It is a pleasure to use. The storm one is good and everything but it has no wifi and doesnt work very well with my tmobile internet plan. I just sold it today for $200. Hopefully the new storm2 would have wifi and would work well with the gsm internet plans like tmobile and at&t. I really really love the keyboard =). I had iphone 3g before and the blackberry storm keyboard really surprised me hhihih.
