Please Login to Remove!

Hi i seem to have the same problem as this user;

Error 523 whenever trying to load OS - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

I've used Jl_cmder and wiped my handheld, and when i downloaded the os, installed it and deleted the vendor file i proceeded with the loader.exe file

During the installation i get this error during loading application modules;

I've tried almost everything, any suggestions?

For one, make certain that your device is connected to a rear USB port. Not a front USB port or hub.

Or try a different rear USB port.

ok

a) It always fails at the same time.

or

b) It fails on other cod files also.

If b), do you recall what they are?

Or

So... let's go into the details.

Spill everything... OS file you're installing, where'd the device come from, did it every work on the previous OS, anything you can think of.

Device is a friend of mine, which i was trying to update the os for him. He bought it from Rogers and never upgraded the os before.

Previous OS? Not sure, but it was the 'default' one. I was attempting to update it to 4.6.0.520 from;
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html

and this was when it gave me the same error as the picture posted above.

Every attempt to reload the os seems to go back to the same error

here's something funny, i hit the 'retry' button and the same cod file (net_rim_cldc.cod) loaded successfully, but then it crashed at a different time. I noticed it crashes when the phone loses its 'connection'

Could be an issue on the USB port. Has the friend mentioned any other issues, charging or syncing?

For now, I'd let the device an hour with no battery in it. Come back and try again then. Before starting, reboot the PC fresh from Off.

you may want to uninstall all blackberry software from your pc and also do a complete wipe on ur blackberry....

then in c:\program files\research in motion\ (there should be a file named 'vendor.xml'???

delete it and then reinstall all the blackberry software and then try updating see if that helps....

You do realize this thread is a month old, right.

Also, if he is having trouble updating the device now, wiping it would be a terrible idea. That would render the OP with a brick.
