Question does the blackberry storm work with AT&T?

Please Login to Remove!

I have an unlocked blackberry storm and I was wondering how to set it up with AT&T.

Moved to the correct section.

Please do a search. This has been covered several times. The key is to unlock it and get the correct service books. The thread referenced by alb123 covers it pretty well.

And email and Internet will work, but only on EDGE, not 3G.

Rephrase... The browser will work. MediaNet will not. You won't be able to get tech support for it though because AT&T doesn't have any information to troubleshoot the Storm.

I am using a Storm on AT&T and it works just fine. Remember, without a Blackberry Data plan you're pretty much screwed. I have the BIS plan and I can browse the internet with no problem, get all my emails, GPS works, Weatherbug icon works, App store works, pretty much everything is working...on EDGE of course, but it could be worse.

MediaNet will work.

You won't get tech support because you are NOT using one of their devices which they support.

Have you ever tried driving a Ford automobile into a Mercedes dealership and asked "I'm here to get my warranty work done on my car?"

What do you think they will say?

The device will basically only be good for telephone calls and SMS.

I'm still waiting for an answer to my question, although rhetorical, still applies.

I'm assuming they would tell you to get a BlackBerry data plan.

I'm guessing something like, "Can this bum with the Ford give you a ride to your Mercedes?"

how do i get the correct service books? and also, how do i get the previous owner's phone number out of my phone? the visual voice mail is stuck w/ his number too...
this is so frustrating... supposedly he had at&t and everything worked fine. i can't set up email b/c the phone is registered w/ his info so trying to get a bis account at att.com/blackberrystart won't work.. AND i can't get on the internet!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

i've called at&t twice.. they updated my IMEI # on my acct and added a blackberry plan... but nothing is helping.
