I have a Blackberry 7130e thru Verizon. I can receive emails, but I can't send or reply. I think I have set up my account correctly. Any suggestions? Dennis
Do you get an red X when trying to send or reply to messages? Is so, open the message that failed to send, scroll up to Message Status. What does it say? Finally, go to you cellular carriers BIS website and resend yourself the service books.
Since your on BES, go to Settings > Options > Security Options > General Settings. Scroll down to Services, press scroll wheel, select Regenerate Encryption Key. After it completes, try to send or reply to a message again.
If that doesn't work, go to Settings > Options > Advanced Options > Service Book. Highlight Desktop[CMIME], press scroll wheel, select Delete. Wait a couple seconds, press scroll wheel, select Undelete. Let the BlackBerry sit for 5-10 minutes while it performs a Slow Sync. You will see a popup message when it completes stating "Activation Complete".
You may also need to completely uninstall Destop Manager and reinstall. Be sure you correctly set up for Blackberry Enterprise Server and the type of mail system your company uses. Just to be safe I usually connect to the mail server via vpn or dial up if you are not already connected before installing. You may just need to connect to your mail server and regenerate the keys with the DM and you may not need to reinstall. If you want to be sure call your BB IT guy and have him/her walk you through Destop Manager installation.
"Unlisted message error"
We're running two separate BES servers:
1) BES 3.6.3.8 - some MSEXch 5.5 (NT dom) and some MSExch 2003 users (AD)
2) BES 4.0.3.3 - only MSExch 2003 users (AD)
The problem is that when some of our users try to send an e-mail from their Blackberry device, it fails with the following error message:
“Unlisted message error”
This error has been reported by 15 of our 80 users and is very concerning. It only seems to affect certain users but it always affects them i.e. it’s not intermittent. It is across a mix of exchange servers and across both BES servers.
