Default Possible to downgrade software on Curve 9300 to version 4?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello

Recently got an unlocked, non network specific, Curve 9300. It was running version 6. device software which I found a bit clumsy compared with version 4. which I had on previous BB.

I have downgraded to version 5. which I like better. But I'd really like to load version 4. on the Curve 9300.

Is that possible? And, if so where would I get the .zip file for version 4?

Cheers:

Nope, not OS 4. I know with the 9300, it is possible to downgrade to OS 5.x

I've managed the OS 5.x downgrade and like it better that OS 6.x. So did the 9300 never had OS 4.x version written for it?

No, it was launched with 5.0.

I want to say no. Though I am not 100% sure. I am under the belief that the 9300 never had 4.x.

I had the same question from a coworker about 6 months back, after they saw someone using 4.x on n 8330. I couldn't find it anywhere, but many requests.

Guess I'll have to put up with it as it is now! Really don't like the threaded texts - that is probably the most annoying but personal taste.

OS 6.x was a bit of a shock ... far to much 'bling'.

My old 8330 is still one of my all time favs (with the 7250) and I loved OS 4.x, I jumped directly to OS 6. It was confusing for awhile, and you are right. A lot of extras, but I certainly came to appreciate em.

I was using OS 5 on an 8520, but it died on me and they replaced it. I don't know, each of the OS versions had their pros and cons. I do like using OS 7.1.
