Default Sync data over WIFI?

Please Login to Remove!

I loved this feature on my Palm Lifedrive and after reading that the new Zune will sync tracks over wifi I thought "Why not the Curve?" I wouldn't have to be in my office, I could be anywhere in wifi range.

Actually, that gets me thinking - is this doable with bluetooth? Sure, wi-fi would be amazing, but the USB on my curve is horribly slow when transferring data.

Yes, you can sync data via Bluetooth with the Desktop Manager. The Bluetooth sync (for me at least) was slower than the USB cable method.

True, I sync over bluetooth but it is slower. I like the idea of syncing over wifi due to the longer range. I also like the idea of initiating a sync from the handheld.

If you want to sync real time/on demand over the net and not be in your office, get BES.

It's amazing how many posts are created on this forum constantly asking for ways to sync for free. BES is $15-$20 MAX a month, boys and girls. Granted, wifi is a new spin on an old question, but it's getting exhausting seeing all the posts for free/cheap/etc/etc/etc/etc syncing. It's great that the new Zune syncs over wifi. My tv records survivor for me when I'm not home-- "Why not the curve?".

Cost is no issue for me, but BES does not apply to me. Truth be told I like syncing my personal info from my laptop and not a server. I am not part of a huge company that syncs their info from a server. I work at home and use Outlook on my laptop.

Instead of getting tired of seeing questions and getting frustrated maybe you should realize that some people us BB in different ways. With the popularity of BB increasing you are going to see more diverse users.

Now that WIFI has made it to cell phones I thought it would be nice to sync through my home network to my laptop. That is what many palms do. I am not talking about trying to sync at Starbucks to my home computer. I just want to utilize the additional range in my house.

It would just be nice to be able to sync over WIFI when I am on the pot, tired of playing brick breaker.
