I've been a long time T-Mobile BB subscriber, but I have always kept my phone on Sprint for various reasons. I am thinking of switching to Sprint's 7250 as a all in one device. I realize that the device is good, but any thoughts on Sprint as a BB service provider? I assume that everywhere there is Sprint service that I will have BB service?

yes, an no. Your voice will work everywhere but data does not roam. You will not be able to use Email, Web etc. unless you have 1X network coverage.

I tested a 7750 on Sprint and I found their data network to be slower then the Verizon 7750 I was testing.

Give them a little while. They are the last national carrier to begin carrying the BBs. They've had their own product for years "business connect" which they've always insisted was better (it was a joke). And then sided with GoodLink. I'd question their support for the BBs. TMO sells more BBs than any other carrier in the country so their relationship with RIM should be stronger.

Sprint may end up being a decent BB provider in the long run, but they just finally launched the 7750 (I know...old) and the 7250. Let them figure out the bugs first before jumping with them. They've purposely tried to avoide the BB platform so let them embrace it fully first. I have several contacts at Sprint and most people at Sprint just do not get the concept of push email.

Nextel and Verizon have the strongest relationships with RIM actually.

My best advice is try a Blackberry from each carrier and decide which suits you the best for your needs.

The data speed on the Blackberry should not be much different between Sprint and Verizon. Both are CDMA carriers.

I agree with Southwest here, and thus probably why sprint bought nextel not just because of iden and such, but more for the business aspects. regardless, Sprint is great with the blackbery, i have the 7250, and just recently got it and love it. my bestfriend and I tested speeds on his (he has a verizon 7250) and they are the same.

I've been using BB on Sprint and seemingly works well. I like the 7250.

I have been having a issue about once a day....

"Data Connection Refused"

If I turn off wireless and turn it back on, it works fine.

Any thoughts on this?

Questions for those of you that have Sprint with the BB, do you use it through your company, or as an individual? The reason that I am asking this is, I am looking into changing my sprint phone to a BB and Sprint dosen't want to give me one because I don't have a business account. Any thoughts?

If the area you live/use the device has good T-Mobile coverage you won't find a better deal anywhere -anyhow, $29.99 unlimited/unlimited,BB/Data.


Not a nickel of stock in T-Mobile just a satisfied TMO BB customer ( voice leaves a little to be desired but whatta hey)

I agree TMo has the least expensive rates but you also need to look at their GSM vs GPRS coverage maps. Data coverage is not everywhere voice is found due to the fact GPRS is an overlay to GSM. This is the same for CDMA - Sprint/Verizon. I prefer Nextel due to the fact their data coverage is the same as their voice coverage.
BTW - Sprint and Nextel are actually merging. Sprint will own 51% for tax reasons - as they are selling off their landline business.

As of this week you can have a 7250 connected to a sprint personal account if they give you a problem ask to speak to a customer service rep supervisor they will help you
