why does everyone assume that if they do not receive email, there is an outage.

Maybe your carrier has an issue.

Maybe your work place has an issue.

If you are on a BES, talk with your admin first, then your carrier.

I'm experience what seems like an outage on my BES right now. I have a mail that won't send, and I have one that is not yet on my BB, though I see it in exchange.

I am only showing edge (lowercase, no data) for the past 45 minutes. This does not constitute an email outage but a data outage (if it is truly an outage at all) from the carrier from my understanding. Email outages are related to the email service only and usually other data services work and phones are connecting at EDGE (uppercase with data still). Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

My mail starting coming through about 45 minutes ago. All seems well in the world. It's one of the great things about the blackberry service. I have yet to see them down very long, and it's pretty rare, so when it does happen, I typically just shrug it off.
