Hi, if someone puts their SIM card in my BlackBerry just to use as their phone for a few days will it leave any permanent changes? i.e. will my blackberry go back all its normal settings when i put my SIM card back in? I don't want to swap someones SIM card if it will effect my address book, or anything of that sort.

Nothing should happen, the worse that could happen is that more numbers would appear on your address book due to contacts in the persons SIM card... but it should be solved when they remove their SIM so you should be fine.

As long as they don't save anychanges they make I think you should be fine
