I had the same problem and posted then found out the solution on my own. I've gotten a few PMs about how to fix it. Here's what I reply with:
You have to have the same OS system version on your desktop as you do on your phone. I see you have verizon, go here:
BlackBerry® Software Updates
Select your phone model, then download the device software (also the desktop software if you don't already have the latest). Once downloaded, run the device software app. It will walk you through the install. Connect your phone and sync it. You should now be able to install the applications that you couldn't before. This is what worked for me.
