I got that too... Can't wait. I've already told my rep the second she gets them in the store to hold onto one for me.

I never understood the whole "it's coming soon" marketing thing. I mean, I get that it builds hype but why not just announce a product and make it available immediately? I'm not picking on RIM, it's everyone.

For me, it's just frustrating to hear about a cool new product and then have to wait and wait for it to be released.

Sorry....my little hissy fit is now complete.

I agree with you. Up until recently, wasn't Steve Jobs/Apple sort of known for having stuff available as soon as it is announced? Didn't he say something in the past like "Announce it on Friday so they can buy it on Saturday?" (obviously not a direct quote...but that was the gist of it). I like that M.O. I wish Apple would stick to it, and that other companies would also do it.

Agreed. I was going to point to Apple as an example but didn't want anyone turning it into an "I'm just an Apple fanboy" thread. lol

And you're right, I believe Apple used to introduce a product at events and then proudly announce it would be available that day. However, even they are starting to do the announce a product and then a further out availability date.

I think everyone was expecting and hoping that the ol' 3G iPhone was going to be available the day it was announced.

I'm debating being one of those "bleeding edge" adopters (again!), getting one unlocked for T-Mobile. Mid-2009 for the Javelin is too long to wait, and I have sold all my other Blackberrys (except my 7105t - no joke) to make room for the Latest Hotnessxxx8482;. I just remember the trouble getting the original Curve to work with T-Mo. That was no fun. Much wailing, wringing of hands, and gnashing of teeth. This may indeed be the time to port over to AT&T since I'm out of contract. Wifey-pooh has an iPhone (I know, I know! But what can I do? She's 5'3", mean as a snake!!) so I could get some kind of family plan going with AT&T, maybe save a few bucks. Both kids are sub-accounts with my T-Mo account however, and this messiness has been a major factor in my staying with T-Lame for so long. Oy! Decisions, decisions...
