Default Bold Review In

BGR's website seems to be down, I'm assuming from the heavy traffic to see the Bold review, so I can't link it for the moment.

I'll wait til after initial release and look at user impressions to make my decision.

its a good review, but its has some quality issues (screen & bezel) that I would assume would be fixed before production. BG site has been up and down all morning with all the traffic.

One of the better reviews I have read, stuck to the details, and kept off of the Bold vs iPhone 2 comparisons. The screen, bezel and rebooting issues are a pretty serious group of problems. Boy I hope they get things corrected before the AT&T launch.

Problem is that BG mentioned that his hardware is the final production version, so its unlikely that any changes will be made. I seriously don't see RIM swapping out for a bettery screen. I guess thats what screen protectors are for. If I do get the Bold, hopefully, Seidio will be making a case and holster very soon.

Keep it in the holster and you wont have any issues. Screen protectors will also be available. The screen is amazing on the device, and the unit i handled didnt scratch the screen at all. Around the screen flecked off (like the soft touch top of the 8310)

BGR site is really down now. Sounds like they are connected with iTunes! LOL!

Anyway, lot of are tired of hearing about the 9000 and would just like to see it introduced!

Why would a website be connected to iTunes?

Very balanced article. My hope is that they wil be able to improve some of the mentioned glitches in an effective manner. I look forward to see the browser.

I was somewhat disappointed in the review. If that's a final build, and it's having problems like that, it doesn't bode well for the device. If RIM is going to brag that it's been in development for three years and there are problems with restarts and the screen, it's kinda funny.

What problems with the screen? It scratches? (and still i haven't seen a 9000 screen scratched, the plastic finish make flake off the sides of the screen but that's it). If you take care of your device you wont have any issues.

As for the restarts, software updates will fix that as it has the 4.5 betas

I agree with everything you said. In defense of the other poster, I think some of us may be caught up with iphone hysteria and have certain expectations.

I have seen as many scratched iPhone screens as BlackBerry screens. Neither device does a better job than the other in that regard. I could be completely wrong in this, but it seems to me that its more dangerous to scratch an iPhone screen as that is your only means of using the devices. A scratched BB screen is just an annoyance.

Its pretty tough to scratch the iphone screen as its made of glass, not plastic.

Wirelessly posted

My pearl fell from my holster while walking landed on my foot and I drop kicked it 20 feet into a hot tub. Luckily I sell hot tubs and this was a empty one. Just the sides got scratched.

Is there not a big enough market for industrial strength blackberries made from steel? I would certainly pay a lot more to own such a device.

How can we get one built?
