Well the latest Os doesn't have to be from your carrier. To download from your carrier you can go to the verizon website and click on downloads/support section. They should have a link to BB support and/or BlackBerry downloads. But you can check the stickies at the top of the device forums for the latest releases.

Rather than upgrade to another variation of 4.3 you may wish to wait for a 4.5 release for the 8138. I don't believe it has come from any carrier as yet. Stay tuned!!
