I have one LED (assuming it is LEDs that light the backlight) at the top of my screen that is brighter than all the others.

It is most noticeable when on a white screen, but you can see it with other colours too.

Is this normal, or should I take back the handset?

If I take the handset back, can I back up this bold and copy everything over onto a new one?

Sounds like a stuck pixel to me. Ask, they may exchange it. If you are within a certin number of day, they have no choice. Not sure about your carrier

It's not a dead pixel. It looks like there is an array of lights along the top of the screen, that provide the diffused light for the backlight - and it's one of those that is brighter than the rest. I will try and take some photos later and post them. I have seen this on old laptop screens. Think I will take it back anyway, but look out for this if you have a bold!

Thought I would post this, a photo of the offending spot. It's more noticeable when the screen is on brighter, but it doesn't photograph, so I had to do it in a dark room where the backlight is dimmer.

The light kinda streams down the screen too. Its very annoying in email and whatnot with a white screen.

I have the same spot. Mostly you can notice it when play 4-5 minutes video. What is solution for that issue? Do I have to return it back?

I see that. Sometimes I think I have the same problem but I just have bad eyes.
