Default How Do You Dal With .jad And .axl Files!!!!!????

Please Login to Remove!

I'm trying to change my theme and add some applications to my bb. The files I'm downloading are .jad and .cod. But when I'm in Desktop Manager, it asks for a .axl file to upload through application loader. Also, how do I change my os??

What am I missing?? Or what do I have to do??

DM requires a .cod file associated with the .alx.

.jad files are used for OTA downloads (downloaded via your BB's browser.)

What site? What do you want a link to? If you click on a link to a .jad file you should get a page that gives you the option to download.

.alx files get installed via Desktop Manager to the device via USB cable.
.jad files get installed over the air, wirelessly, directly to the device.

If the theme you're trying to install isn't in .alx./.cod format... then what is it?
There's thousands of themes and applications out there. You can't expect us to just guess at which one it is.
Please be more specific.

You need the ALX and COD files for the Desktop Manager install:

We have a great FAQ site!

The .cod file goes with the .alx file.
If you don't have the .alx file... then just forget about the cod file. They're a married pair. You need both.

The .jad file gets installed via your BlackBerry browser.
The .jad file needs to be on a web server somewhere... and then you have to direct your browser to that URL for the .jad file.
If you don't have a direct link to the .jad file on a web server somewhere, then you basically can't install it.

Why do you seem so reluctant to tell us what you're doing? If we knew what you were trying to install, we could probably help you better.

I am having problems uploading the .alx file with the BB application launcher. Everytime I try to add the .alx file I get a pop up that says "no additional applications designed for your device were found". I have the .alx and .cod files in the same folder.

Using the Search feature here, I was easily able to come up with this:
Application Loader Error - BlackBerryFAQ

Using Google, I got about 11 million pages of information.
