Please Login to Remove!

hey guys im in a tough debate between the bold and storm. but i want to stay on tmobile so i wont be getting the bold because tmobile doesnt have the service books to support it. so now im looking at the storm, im curious to if this will work on tmobile and have everything functional including email and internet ? because i really do not want to walk around with 2 phones. hopefully it will work because i seriously want a newer bb than my curve

It will work but only on edge not 3g, it does not use the same freq...I was with tmo for years but when they went 3g alot of new devices does not support tmo's 3g freq so I made the swap to at&t....it will work with no problems with the exception of 3g

I'm in your same position.

I've been reading through a couple of forums and everything is rumored that T-Mobile will get the Storm in the 2nd QTR of 2009. Do I believe this? No, but I hope I'm wrong.

Im a Tmobile customer too and i also want a storm. im thinking of buying it when it comes out at retail price, but i didnt know if it would take my sim card, being that i heard the storm was a CDMA device but it supports GSM so..im guessing it's kind of both? Im not too worried about the 3G, as long as i can go buy a verizon one and slap my sim in there and be fine...

How would you go about getting the storm unlocked? would verizon do it? or would i have to have a Tmobile rep do it for me?

It will work on T-Mobile, you will not have 3G, EDGE Only. Also you have the same service book issue as the Bold.

Hear me please, there are two versions of the storm out there, a 9500 sold by Vodafone and an 9530 sold by verizon. The 9500 will work with ATT and TMO for voice and data, as for 3G it will work with either ATT or TMO I am not sure which one. Now for the 9530 (the one sold by verizon). this WILL NOT work with ATT or TMO or any other GSM carrier in North America. The GSM frequencies here in North America are different than the one in other parts of the world. Therefore the VZW Storm will NOT work with ATT or TMO.

P.S. It will work with TMO in Europe NOT here in the U.S.

HERE ME PLEASE, do your home work! Verizon released the Storm with the North American GSM frequencies unlike the 8830!!!!!

Check out Verizon's website or ask anyone who has gotten an unlock code from Verizon.

And you will still have Service Book issues regardless.

The Storm is a Quad band phone, two for CDMA and two for GSM thats four. The two for GSM are European GSM frequencies. I did my homework. I wish you were right but I could also accept that I may be wrong.

Check out the tmonews.com forums. There's rumor now of the Storm launching on T-Mobile in February 2009. Personally, I'm waiting. I was seriously ready to order a direct fulfillment and go to VZW, but a friend of mine works at T-Mobile and although he couldnt' confirm it would be February, he said 1st (FIRST) quarter of 2009. No other details at this time, but it's enough to get me to wait.

Here's hoping for wi-fi and the latest, most stable OS at the time of launch
