Default So I downloaded 4.5...

Please Login to Remove!

and it said on the directions to plug into my computer and boot up the RIM desktop manager and that there would be a prompt to "upgrade." I did that and nothing happened.

I'm not sure what to do now.

Which directions did you follow?
What's the exact version of the OS you're trying to install?
Did you remember to delete the vendor.xml file?

After you downloaded it did you find the vendor file and delete it before you actually installed the software on your computer?

I downloaded from the stickie on top of the Curve page for the 8310. I deleted the vendor before I downloaded the software. Am I supposed to download a different version for my desktop as well?

You needed to delete the vendor.xml file AFTER you installed the phone OS on your computer.

Not if the software is for your carrier. If it's not, DM just won't prompt to upgrade.

If you did that correctly, when you plug your BB in it should prompt you to up grade. Does it do this?

I did. It opened up the apps and nothing than the usual happened. The desktop manager did not prompt either.
