My friend recently got a 8300 Curve on T-Mo... she's telling me that she doesn't receive text messages from certain people. I know this sounds weird but she receives it perfectly fine from others and not from other people.

Now she just got the phone and doesn't have a microSD yet so I was thinking that it might have been that problem... hasn't reset her phone in a long time so I thought it might have been low on memory... I told her to do so but I'm not sure if that'll fix it...

Any input?

Micro SD card would have not anything to do with NOT receiving SMS's from certain people. Resetting the berry is a good option though.

Update: I asked my friend and did further testing with her phone... I have done resets and it still happens but I've narrowed it down by a whole bunch... she's only not able to receive them from people on Cingular... this sounds like a problem she has to call in... but I'll see if anyone here has the same problem first...

i had this problem a little while back... i had opened up a new account and got a new number and i only got texts from at&t users and nothing from anyone else... i called and it turned out that the first 3 numbers in my phone number 337 were not registered/recognized or some crap on other networks as a cellphone number prefix... so whenever anyone would text me their networks would think it would be the equivalent of texting a landline number... it just wouldnt work... i had to change my number so maybe that could be it...
