Default New blackberry storm upgrade problems

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

i bought a blackberry storm from vodaphone on saturday. while i am waiting for the simcard to activate, i thought if get it all set up ready to use

i installed the software from the cd provided and opened DM to update the BB. i get an error saying "a fatal error has occurred..." and it wont update. i have no idea why

ive since downloaded the latest DM and still the same problems. i can transfer songs and data to and from the BB using the program it comes with (roxio?) so its not a problem with the connection

any ideas?

Try this, make certain your USB cable is plugged to a rear USB port, not a USB hub, monitor port or a front USB port.

tried every usb port i got

blackberry device manager says:

connection status
usb-pin-205blahblah connected
COM1 disabled
COM2 disabled

and like i said i can transfer music and videos to the BB via this just not run the DM update on it or upload applications via DM

so strange

Have you rebooted the PC (unplug the BB first), allow the PC to fully reboot, then try it all again?

Hi,
Please re-install the application from the CD and remove any old profiles that you may have had on your computer by going to control panel, remove blackberry, when the un-install shield for blackberry comes up, please make sure that you select remove all local profiles on your pc.
