Default Bold won't upgrade OS

Please Login to Remove!

Have a one day old 9000 on AT&T. Stock OS is .167 and I can not seem to get .190 to work. Very frustrated at this point.

I've done about everything: downloaded the correct file, deleted the vendor.xml, uninstalled and reinstalled the entire setup three times. Upgraded DM to 4.7.

Even used JL_Cmdr to wipe the device clear.
Loader recognizes the device, but then gives the error message "no additional applications designed for your device are found"

I try to point Loader at the .190 folder, but it won't take.

Running a Thinkpad w/ Vista.

Can anyone help? Please?

Default App loader

Dono,

Thanks for the reply.

I've tried that about two hours ago when I gave up on using DM to accomplished the upgrade.

Something's weird.

The App loader works just fine, except it doesn't want to accept the files. It'll see them, but won't allow that they're made for the 9000.

????

kato - welcome to BBF.

Did you try running the LOADER program in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

Give that a shot.

I always remind folks having upgrade issues to delete the Vendor.xml file. I forgot to do this once and was about to blow my brains out trying to make it work.

I ran into this on one of our Bold's. When I attempted to use DM it showed the update but then stated there are not updates.

I then launched loader.exe and that bombed about 75% into the install.

So after the BB rebooted it had the new OS on it and so far the user who has that BB Bold has had no issues.

Hey- as far as I know this was/is a known problem with DM 4.7.. i had this exact issue when i first had my bold. For now, remove 4.7 amd download DM 4.6 from blackberry.com and you should be good. let me know if cannot find 4.6!!

You have to use DM 4.6. Will not work with DM 4.7.
