I am new to Blackberry. When I am composing emails on my Mac computer I notice that the Blackberry Bold updates the emails while I am composing them. Sometimes there can be 6 or 7 on my Bold before I send the email. How can I avoid this? I am using gmail.com as my main email server and am on BIS.

Do you mean that your Bold may have received 6 or 7 new emails from other people while you are on your Mac composing an email?

No the emails on the Bold are the email I am still composing on my computer. It seems that BIS is updating every 30 seconds or so. When I finally send the email, it too is there with a number of partial aspects of that one email. Sometimes as many as 6 or 7 partial copies of the one email I was working on.

You need to log into your BIS and setup a filter so that you do not receive any emails from your own email address.

I used to have that same problem, your mac saves a copy of your draft to the IMAP server which updates on your blackberry as a new email. Rather frustrating, I agree.

It should stop as soon as you setup that filter on BIS.

I have the same problem. Sometimes it's more than 8, there is one time the 'draft' counted up to 15, very annoying.

So if I filter it with BIS, do I still have the copy of my sent messages?

Just to add, this problem doesn't occur when i'm sending email from Thunderbird, only from Apple Mail.

When I use Entourage rather than Apple Mail it also stops. Must be something in Mail that causes the every 30 second send to BB.
