Default Annoying multiplayer game invitations on home screen

Newbie here

I had a few game invitations appear on the desktop of my blackberry. I opened the game application and canceled the requests, but those invitations stayed on the homescreen and they will not disappear. How do i get rid of them?!

Things that magically appear on your home screen arrive via Service Books. To get rid of them, go to Options, Advanced Options, Service Book and delete the entries for the offending icons. It may not be painfully obvious which service book goes with which icon though. Also, I would recommend backing up your device first.

If they are service books, the carrier will simply repush them back out to the blackberry so it would be easier to just hide the icons, or constantly delete the service books.

Service Books can be resent by you manually, the carrier, and I think after a battery pull. *not sure on the battery pull

Oh yeah. I forgot that I decided to hide facebook after getting tired of deleting it. Who in their right mind thinks their customers appreciate being sent stuff? I won't pretend to know how (im)penetrable BBs are to malware, but I can't wait until a carrier pushes one of these icons to a lawyer's BB and it somehow causes some damage/problem/security breach.

I'm certainly no proponent of frivolous law suits, but these icon pushers really need a smack upside their heads.
