I've started using the mute button instead of the keyboard lock to save battery life (via accidentally pushing buttons). However, whenever I push the end, menu, back, and call key, my screen comes back on saying that it's in standby mode.

However, one of my friends has a new Curve and they have O.S. 4.2 (came installed) and when they standby, those four buttons don't cause the screen to come on.

Is it the O.S. that causes this because I've have two curves (one broke) and both screens turn on when it's on standby mode with O.S. 4.5. I've never tried it as 4.2 but the only difference between my phone and my friends phone seems to be the O.S.

anyone? my friends want to use the theme i have, but it's for OS 4.5 only, but they also dont want to lose the standby feature.

That's how it works in 4.5. The screen comes on but it's still in Standby Mode and the other keys are still locked.

Ah, hate that! I used to love locking my phone when I had 4.2 cause I could put it in my pocket and save the battery... but now after upgrading to 4.5 the screen is always on when I take it out of my pocket! So annoying.
