when i hit the button on the side for voice dailing it brings up the menu any ideas why just wounding

Have you checked on Screen/Keyboard Settings what is on the "Left Side Convinience Key Opens" option?

On my 8700g I go to options, screen/keyboard, convenience keys. You can then select the current setting and it will open a window to pick a new one.

same on the bold. options->screen/keyboard
scroll down, it will say left side convience key and right side convience key.
by default, the right side is camera and the left is voice dialing.

i must be miss something because i don't see it on my bold 9000 i find options but not the screen/keyboard
