Default Wireless remains off until battery adequately charged?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm still fairly new so forgive me if this has already been addressed:

My battery went down to the bear minimum and the wireless was automatically switched off (which makes sense). However, when I plugged in the power cord, my BB would still not let me use the wireless function until it had been charged to a certain level--has anybody else encountered this?

I thought this was a bit irritating as I waited for my battery to be adequately charged, but I learned my lesson!

Default Charger Type

It probably is the type of charger you have. If the charger input cant keep up with the devices output then the device will disable extra output devices for your protection. Most people have a travel charger, which is just a trickle charger. You can get a high capacity charger; however, they heat the battery up and reduce its life by 10 fold. So if you dont mind buying batteries get a high capacity charger.

Yes, I don't know what the actual percentage is but until the battery is at that level wireless stays off.

I found the best way around this is to power the unit off for 10 minutes and leave it on the charger and then power back on. You should have 1 or 2 bars of battery left at that point and your radio should work.

If you leave the unit on while charging it takes significantly longer.

I usually do a shift+cap+del reset, and once the handheld resets the radio is on.
