Default December 31, 1969 Date

I have a conversation in my inbox with date of Dec. 31, 1969 and I cannot delete it. I have tried a reboot and a battery pull. Any ideas?

I did another battery pull and it disappered. Thanks anyway.

If you highlight the date above it and press the menu key then select delete prior, does it delete?

If not, then you have a corrupt messages database. The only way to correct this would be to clear the messages database. Doing so will clear all messages, not just that one.

To clear the messages database:
Connect your device to your PC.
Launch Desktop Manager
Select Bakcup/Restore
Select Advanced
Highlight Messages from the Device Databases column (on the right side)
Click the Clear button.

You can never go wrong with the Delorian. I was going to suggest that, but Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd were busy.

Generally, I've found that you can perform a selective backup of the Messages database, clear the Messgaes DB on the handheld, restore the Messages DB from backup and then delete the un-deletable message.

IIRC it's detailed in a document in RIM's Technical Solution Center.

That's good to know. I was under the impression that it would restore the corrupted message. It's definitely worth trying.

That is a way cool solution, and something that I will have to tuck away for future reference.
