Default How do I disable password & change icons?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and it's my first blackberry.

I've already installed the themes (first thing that had to be fixed on my bb lol) and have basic experience with this bb. I'm actually waiting for an 8700r coming in the mail that I won but in the mean time (as I'll likely be waiting 6-8 weeks after Nov 30) I'm getting by on a 7100g.

I only have 2 concerns right now, first is:

How do I change the menu options from my home screen? I want to get rid of that "ENTERPRISE ACTIVATION" option as I'm not on any BES/BIS

2nd:

How do I disable the password prompt? I've tried Rogers tech support a few times and their solution is to have it swapped and pay $25.00. It's a demo line so I don't think that's gonna happen so I"m hoping there's another way.

I go to "SETTINGS" >> "OPTIONS" >> "SECURITY" >> and select "PASSWORD" which is always set to "ENABLED"

I have no option to "CHANGE OPTION" as my only choices are "CHANGE PW", "WIPE HANDHELD", "VERIFY SECURITY....", and a couple of other options.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

P.S. I'm from Howard Forums if anyone knows that forum

Yup, a few of us were over there...
As a long time poster, you know that if you search you'd find there answers..

But anyway

To hide an icon, press the alt key (lower left hand corner) and click the trackwheel. A menu will appear; select "Hide icon"

It sounds like you bought a previously owned BlackBerry. It probably has an IT Policy on it. If it does, you are going to have a real problem getting rid of it. The only good way is to get onto a BES and have a default policy (with no password policy) pushed to it. Otherwise you have some problems.

Sorry. And welcome to BB Forums!

Thanks for both answers

Even tho I'm still in this predicament, you told me, in 2 minutes what the guy on the phone @ Rogers BB support couldn't tell me in over 90 minutes of troubleshooting.

I don't know why I didn't think of this forum first, Rogers should hire BB Support agents right off this forum lol

Yes my BB was used which is why I'm able to use it for my demo line (it's a return). I'll have my colleague take care of it. Thx

P.S., I hate searching, they rarely work and I often have to navigate through tons of threads and pages to find relevant info. Sorry ppl
