Question Please help if you can!

Please Login to Remove!

I've not even had my blackberry curve 8330 for a week yet and am already encountering problems! The day I activated it, it rang fine. Then yesterday my calls would not come through and my text messages and blackberry messenger IMs would be delayed, some almost 6 hours later! I kept trying to call from my landline and it rang twice back-to-back but that was after I tried for about two hours. Sometimes it goes straight to voicemail and other times it seems to ring forever. I've researched this and tried everything others have said such as the battery pull, and to check the profiles/do not disturb/etc. I cannot figure this out. I have 3 bars of service and can call out fine. I'm getting discouraged!

I think you should call your provider.

It's not in my name so I dont have the info needed, but I was gonna try to go in to the store tomorrow if I couldnt fix the problem. There has to be a solution I just wish I could figure it out. Doesn't seem right to me that it would work fine one day then act up the next. The only things I did differently was install the CDs on my computer that came with it, and I added one ringtone.

Yes it does seem a bit weird which is why I would call the provider. Perhaps they are having network issues. Or just wait a day to see if the issues resolve themselves as if it's a network problem you can be sure you aren't the only one with issues! You may also want to try updating the roaming list on the device.

Dial *228. Then press 2.

SMS issues are nearly always a carrier issue as opposed to a device issue. Same thing for phone call issues.

But update the roaming service (also known as the PRL) and see if that helps.

Just try again. That happens sometimes.

Be sure you listen to the prompt and select option to update the phone's roaming service/capabilities. I believe it's option 2 on Verizon.

I've tried several times since then and get nothing but the beeping. No prompts or anything, and it disconnects the call. Gee! haha.

I have contemplated doing the Wipe Handheld option to restore everything back to factory default settings, but before I went through with it, it said, "Message service and other services will be turned off." Does that just mean I will obviously not receive anything while this is being done, or does it mean will I lose my entire Verizon services like calling, text, data, etc.?

That means that you won't receive anything (messages, calls, texts, etc) during the process.

You need to call Verizon Customer Support and possibly exchange the device.
