Password issues
Please Login to Remove!
Weird issue here guys, i upgraded to .250 when it was first released, all was well except with my password, i always used a 4 letter combination until i upgraded i got an error that that the password was too short and pick a new one. I do that and am now using a 5 digit password however; every few days i get a message that my password expired and i need to enter a new one, which can be anything then i have to go reset my password to what it was already. i got sick of that so i downgraded to 4.6.1.239 thinking maybe it was the version i was using and the same thing keeps happening, any thoughts here??

Are you on BES?
Otherwise, you can actually turn-off password protection so it wouldn't be annoying.

Might want to check with your BES Administrator just the same, there may have been a policy change.

I did do that, him and I are friendly as I am a closet gadget dork and am always harassing him about when new bb's are gonna be available, he also looks the other way on my frequent os updates. We're not a huge company, about 25 users, no one else has this issue and ther are a few other os updaters with the same device...

Mods please move to 9630 thread
Ok, so I just switched carriers and went with a tour from vzw, awsome and my password was working ok with 4 characters UNTIL i hooked it up to dm which is version 4.3.0.17, and now i have the same problem again, i put 4 characters in and i get "the password you chose is too short, please try again" message... , anyone have any idea how to fix and why DM would randomly cause this??

Desktop Manager? You have some IT Policy (policy.bin?) file loaded on your PC, and when you connect to Desktop Manager, it automatically installs it.

ok, thats the most info i got so far, how would i confirm thats the issue and how do i fix it..Also, when i was having this problem on my 8900, i did a security wipe and reloaded the os... but what your saying makes perfect sense in that it would get automatically loaded...

You need to search your entire PC for the IT Policy. Delete it and all instances of it from your PC.
Then, you can use JLCmder for ResetToFactory.

That should solve your issue.
so, delete the bin file. Do a backup. Do the ResetToFactory, then do a restore from the previous backup.
