Default Holsters?

Please Login to Remove!

I have been reading, searching and reading more and I keep running into references about 'when I remove the blackberry from its holster , etc, etc.' Is there a function that occurs , other than the holster holding the BB, when the BB is placed into a holster? It almost sounds like Blackerry holsters turn the device off or something.

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

They have a sensor that puts the bb into a standby mode which helps to conserve battery power as well as prevent inadvertant button presses

Thank you for the reply ezrunner. I would like to ride more. However built for comfort rather than speed, as I am, I would be most adept at driving the truck with all the replacement parts.

So, is the holster that came in the box with the BB then probably better than the aftermarket one I bought? Or is the sensor on the blackberry itself?

The holster that comes with the Tour is excellent. The way I use it is to put my Tour into standby mode before putting it into the holster and then whenever I get a call or email I remove the BB and it automatically switches to that incoming phone call screen or email as the case may be.

There is a sensor in the BB and a magnet in the case that activates the sensor

See I didn't like the one that came with the Tour. I like the previous ones that were just pouches with out the strap and the belt clip. I wish they have a pouch like the one for the curve for the tour.

I use this one:
Holster For BlackBerry Tour 9630 - BlackBerry Holster

It's plastic; it still puts it in standby; it's $2.00 shipped.

What's not to like?!

My 8703 is carried in the OEM case all BB's come with in the box.
My Tour (and previously my 8900 and Curve) go in this.
