Default AP Mobile News affecting backup

Please Login to Remove!

Just upgraded to OS 297 and during backup I got an error and the backup hung while it was processing AP Mobile News files. I uninstalled the program, installed a new version. Now it hangs up when it's processing "AP Mobile News Settings," and I get a dialog with the following:

"Error backing up data base [profiles] 5 of 6 entries retrieved."

Any ideas? Does this have anything to do with permissions? Or am I off base? Thanks. PS: Backs up fine with AP News uninstalled.

I guess you will need to clean up the database and redo it again. You can use the backup & restore utility to do an isolated backup then get the database cleared. Try the sync then and see if it works. Then if it does re-input the data...but you will need to do that manually.

I had done this video and see if this helps..

Default How I got it working

Thanks wadhiamod.

1. Recap: Installing the latest version of AP Mobile News caused the backup function in DM5 to hang with the message: "Error backing up database [profiles] 5 of six entries retrieved."

2. Uninstalled AP Mobile News and backup worked fine. Reinstalled and got the same error.

3. Using DM Backup->Advanced I had two choices. Clear the "profiles" database, or try to back it up selectively to see if it was the problem. I tried to move it over and got the same "5 of 6 entries retried message. On the right hand side of Advanced, I still had "profiles" with 6 entries. I copied the 5-entry profiles back over the 6 and backup worked.

4. I had to manually reset by telephone ring profiles.

Questions: A) What other profiles are there besides the ring profiles, which, clearly, was the only profile, or part of the profiles database that was corrupted? B) Why did uninstalling AP Mobile News allow backup to work?
