Please Login to Remove!

I have a 8330m and plan to move to the 9650 Tour 2 when it comes out. I want to new unit to be a mirror image of the old in way of programs downloaded and other items I have set up. If I do a back up on the 8330m and a restore the 9650 will I accomplish this. If not what is the process I should us. Thanks in advance for the help.

Wirelessly posted (Lets Go Canes!)

Yes. You can do as you mentioned. I would also sync by PIM info to outlook as an additional backup just in case.

Use the DEVICE SWITCH WIZARD that comes as part of Desktop Manager. A straight backup will *not* back up applications that were downloaded over the air. The Switch Device Wizard will back up (and restore) the 3rd party applications.

Also not that not every application that works on the 8830 will work on the Tour2 which isn't even out yet... Some are very OS dependant.

To support NJBlackBerry a bit further, the Tour2 has a different screen resolution so most likely all your 3rd party will have to be re-installed. The Switch device wizard will be useful for you autotext/profiles, other little nit picky options you have set.

As AKosnitzky suggested it's always good to sync your PIM info with Outlook, add mutliple layers of redundancy to your information.
