Default Need inputs on BES 5 Test Plan...

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

We are in the process of Testing our BES5 infrastructure before we can migrate our users from BES 4.x

1. Domino 8.5.1 and 800 users to migrate from 4.x.
2. Webdesktop, BAS, Monitoring on the same box.

Can anyone share the areas to be tested or if you can share your test plan ?

Thanks for helping/sharing.

Default Any information please....

Anything helps...

I heard from someone (not in this forum), that they didn't test BES5 infrastructure before moving. May have worked for them, but that's not a good practice.

Nike9090,

Our situation is not similar, as we are on BES 4.1.4.26 and Exchange 2007. I got new SIP credentials from RIM and created a new BES 5.0 SP1 MR1 instance and migrated a small number of users using the Transporter. Then we tested everything to ensure that all is well. We aren't done yet (still about 170 remaining BES 4 users to go). But this is the general way I would recommend to you to proceed. This way, you can move users back if a major problem is discovered.

If you already have a lab do whatever you think u would wanna do in real network. For example, install temp 4.1 and then do inplace upgrade etc. Then test bes 5.0 main functionality, and all other features you use in a real network. If not, Elrohir59 is right, that would be safest way to do it.

Default Thanks for the responses....

We did a lot of testing on BES 5.x but will find things which are not tested and find new configurations / issues.

I guess we will find new issues as resolve them when we start the migration process.

Thanks for the responses.
