Like most phones, when it rings you can hit the end button to send to voicemail. When the BB is in it's holster, can you not hit one of the buttons to mute and/or sned to vm? I have tried them all and it doesn't work. Maybe a setting I am not aware of?

If I don't want to see who it is and just want to leave it in the holster, on my 7100t I just roll the wheel and it stops audibly ringing.

On our new 8700c ver 4.1's, If Holstered, pressing the Esc key sends the call to voicemail or informs the caller that I am not available.

On my 8700c pressing any button while holstered only quiets that particular ring, but the next ring rings audibly. I have not found a way to send a call directly to voicemail or a way to ignore it without pulling the phone out of the holster and pressing the red "end" key.

Saw in another thread that the Esc key is supposed to send a call to VM when holstered... haven't tried it myself...

I'm using an 8700c v4.1.0.284 with the Zen theme and Ringer_ClassicPhone for my ringtone. The only way I've found to silence an incoming call is to lift the handset from the holster then slip it back in. You only need to lift it about an inch. Moving the trackwheel or hitting the mute button on the top of the phone only silences it for a couple of seconds. I haven't found a way to send a call to voicemail while in the holster.

Okay this was driving me nuts and I think I've finally found a solution. Double click the escape button and the call goes to voicemail. Worked on my T-mobile 8700g (.284).

The best I have found is as mentioned above to lift the phone about an inch out of holster and then return. It does not send caller in vm...it just mutes the ring/vibrate.

As I have mentioned before, it would be nice to be able to hit the mute button on the top to send caller into vm. It can't be that hard to program the software to do this can it?

How many times have you wanted to "mute a call" vs. "mute a conversation". I would say 50 to 1 with me.
