Default opening jpg. and pdf files

I just purchased a 7290 with 4.0. I am trying to open e-mails with jpg. files and Adobe pdf. files and neither are working. I am not going through BES and am just using the blackberry web client. For a machine that is so simply put together it does not make general operations very easy. Can anyone help with this problem thank you.

(for the 401st time - yesterday I hit number 400):

I could suggest you do a search for one of the dozens of posts on how to view JPG/GIF files, but this is just easier:

You can not open JPG/GIF attachments on a BlackBerry unless you are running both handheld v4.0 and BES v4.0. You can upload images to a web site and then browse over to them, select and download them. That is the only way to get them to your BB.

PDF files have been a problem (at least for us) since day one. I don't use BWC so I can not comment.

OK, now that I have your permission (but I didn't include the HTML for the search button - I don't want to make it too easy) ;)

I'm a Hong Kong user too.

You cannot view jpg/gif attachment without BES. But you can use your browser to view jpg/gif.

You can actually view PDF files using BWC, but there are two types of PDF. You can only view those type with selectable text (i.e. created by Word, etc). You cannot view those type as image PDF.

Hope this is useful to you.

For viewing PDF files try eFile. Or better still check out this great site www.mobilewhack.com which has a nice little list of useful software in todays article
