Default Cell Phone External Passive Repeater Antenna

Please Login to Remove!

Just had a new territory added to my market area. The Sprint service in that part of Ohio isn’t great at all. I am thinking of getting one of these “Cell Phone External Passive Repeater Antennas”. Has anyone used one of these and what are your feelings on how well they work. Any feelings on which are the best ones. Thanks in advanced

If you don't mind me asking, which one do you use?

I don't have one yet, just thinking about getting one. With me having the Tour I know VRZ is big in the area but I don't want pay for Sprint and VRZ at the same time. My understanding is I would need to get a SIMs card from VRN and have an active acct (2 bills/accts). Am I right in that thinking?

I have had a 3 watt mobile booster in my car for a few years and it works great for areas where the service is spotty. Sort of like the power of the old bag phones

Check into those Wilson mobile kits and pair that with a "Smoothtalker" brand cradle for your car. It'll be worth the money. In my former life I worked I.T. and we installed a similar booster at our CEO's summer home in the middle of nowhere and we got a little bitty signal on a 65 foot tower and turned it into about 3 bars on the ground with all of the boosting equipment. That way he could send/receive emails via his Sprint datacard. The whole project set the company back probably a few grand (had to pay us travel, mast equipment, etc.) but it was priceless overall.

The Wilson mobile kits are good quality and proven. It'll probably set you back a few hundo but thats worth it in your line of work!

I have Sprint service and when I'm out of Sprint coverage I roam onto Verizon's network automatically. I even get data services.
