I haven't ever used the tether so this is why I am asking but are there any charges from your cell phone provider along with the tether?

If you already have unlimited blackberry plan with your operator, there will be no additional cost for tethering using tether. Without tether application, you will be charged for tethering using your blackberry as a modem.

Some providers have 'unlimited data' and still charge for tethering. The best is to call your carrier first because they most likely know when your doing it.

That is correct. But if you already have unlimited blackberry plan, tether will simulate blackberry connection when you using your blackberry as a modem. That's way from carrier point of view, you just do normal blackberry connection, not tethering. No extra charge then.

The only overages you will see is if you go over your data limit. Other than that you shouldn't see any overages
