Ok your response is quite clear, i need to clear up something, i am unable to sync on the whole, it starts and 3/4 of the way the error message, Unable to read application data. I don't know if that clears it up, I have done all those things you have suggested. I think the first response u sent has something to do with the problem "Cause 1
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account is a member of a protected group."

two things, first download a new copy of DM. Delete the old one and install the new one. Then give it a try. the first response was for a server issue. Unless your working on a BES it wont apply.
Also make sure the place your having the backup saved has the space or is not a drive thats read only.
The DM change may clear up the problem. dont forget to do a battery pull once ready to connect to the new DM software. Allow the BB to load and be ready.

The address book will sync if you have one of the applications that work like Outlook. Also you must set options in the DM to control the sync via wire unless your on a Business server( BES).
Synchronize organizer data such as tasks, memos, contacts, and calendar entries so that organization data on the BlackBerry smartphone and the email application on the computer are identical. When wireless organizer data synchronization is on, organizer data is automatically synchronized over the wireless network. Turn wireless organizer data synchronization on or off for the following BlackBerry smartphone applications:
Contact list
Calendar
Memo list
Task list
To turn wireless organizer data synchronization on or off, complete the following steps:
On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Address Book.
Click the Menu key, and then click Options.
Click Desktop.
In the Wireless Synchronization field, select Yes to turn on wireless organizer data synchronization or No to turn it off.
Press the Escape button.
Click Save.
Repeat these steps for the calendar, memo list, and task list applications.
