Default 9700 from 8310 upgrade probs

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

I have just upgraded yesterday and first impressions excellent taking advice elsewhere on this forum to change track sensitivity to 80 makes a big difference.

I updated to the latest desktop and used the migration tool to transfer from one to the other. No probs. Then changed service book settings and resent and registered. No probs.

The problems started when trying to use migrated progs. Blackberry App World runs but sticks on loading and eventually times out saying it cannot connect to the Apps server and I should check network connections and try again.

Email and internet seems just fine otherwise.

Google sync is my latest problem which didn't work reliably as it had before so I went for the old uninstall and reinstall. The prog is reported as installed but when I run it says 'Application terminated: Google Sync has been denied the 'Cross Application Communication' permission which sounds more a BB problem than Google and might be related to the BB Apps World problem.

Finally how do I check if WiFi is working? I am logged on to my router but there is just a little white dash next to the connection whereas Mobile Network has a green tick.

I am not sure if the BB just uses whatever pipe it can find or what.

Any advice welcomed. Thanks

Wirelessly posted (8900)

I would not recommend using the migration wizard to move apps from OS 4 to OS 5. In many cases there are updated apps specifically for the newer version. (Wizard is fine for migrating preferences and settings). I would look at downloading apps again using your 9700.

As for WiFi, the symbol at the top of your display will be highlighted when connected and grayed out otherwise. Your device will use WiFi if it's active.
