Hi Guys this is my first post sorry it's so long

I have a curve 8520 on orange in the uk and iam trying to upgrade the software from v 4.6.1.314 to 5.0.0.681 downloaded from orange, but every time i try to upgrade to the new os it just keeps saying that a new update is there but it is still the 4.6.1 version and not the new 5.0 version.

when i go to help on the dtm and click about dtm and then click device software it says installed blackberry device software is V5.0.0.681 (platform 5.2.0.67) for blackberry 8520 smartphone.

I have tried everything even uninstalling all blackberry software and the new os re downloading and installing all software including the loader and the dtm but it still says that 4.6.1 is the only update, can anyone pls help me before i go mad. I also have BIS

Have you located VENDOR.XML on your PC C: drive and deleted it?

I am too am having problems i have done virtually everything to be able to upgrade to software 5.0 but nothing seems to work. I have a data plan on o2 i have deleted the vendor and have clicked on loader but still manager states no new software just the current 1 i have and the downgraded version. I have no idea why this will not work or what i am doing wrong??????

Probably same thing happened to me.

Try this:

Before you click on Loader.exe, disable your internet connection and delete vendor.xml file, and then start the Loader.exe.
