Default Exchange 03-10 and BES Upgrade new hardware

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Everyone,
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I have a client running SBS2003 with BES installed on the SBS server. I believe its a newer version of BES express.
we are installing a pretty beefy ESXi server with VM's for a DC, Exchange 2010 server, a File Print server, and a server with the newest version of BES Express.
All of the VM's will be 2008 R2

There are about 15 Blackberry users (nationwide).

The plan is to Migrate the users from Exchange 03 to exchange 2010, Build out the BES server and retire the old SBS server..

The million dollar question is, is there a way to do this without having to touch the handhelds.

To add another fold, there are other BB users that are not on the BES but are accessing exchange, using BIS i believe, i want everyone on BES when this is done, should i be able to delete the BIS account and activate the users on BES express OTA? if so will i need to wipe the BB's and will their contacts on the BB import into exchange, (Hope so)

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Joe

then move the database to the new BES server with this KB

KB03112-How to move the BlackBerry Configuration Database to a new Microsoft SQL Server instance

Then install BES on new server pointing to new database location

also follow this KB for 2010 move/prep
KB22601-How to migrate the BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 from Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or 2007 to Microsoft Exchange Server 2010

You can also look in the manual for cutover upgrade wich is about the same.
might also get up to date on latest BES SP amd MR too at this time.
