I seem to be experiencing some kind of problem within my Blackberry Messenger. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that I put up an animated picture, but every time I try to open the Blackberry Messenger I get the Uncaught exception:java.lang.NullPointerException I've already tried updating and that didn't help. Can someone familiar with this issue please point me in the right direction?

I can't even open the messenger. Every time I try to get inside I get that java.lang message.

You should try another battery pull. Do it with the power on, and wait a good minute. If that doesn't do it, then I'd start with the least troublesome action and delete the app and then reinstall. If that doesn't fix it, do a security wipe (and do a full backup first), then test with a few contacts, and then restore your data, and then add-on and third-party apps. Then, worst case, wipe with JL_CMDER and resinstall the OS, etc. But start with the simple first.
