Default Thorough cleaning of BlackBerry

Please Login to Remove!

Hello!
This question is really more about cell phones in general, but I figured I would post here since a BlackBerry is what I actually have.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to thoroughly clean a BB?
Last night I accidentally dropped it in some marinara that I made.
It wasn't completely submerged and the sauce was relatively thick so most of it just wiped right off, but there are all kinds of little crevasses on any kind of electronic device and I know there has to be some behind the keyboard.
I'm just the kind of person that when I clean something I do it inside and out and then some.
Also, I can smell it when I use my BB.
Not that it smells bad, just cell phones aren't supposed to smell like tomato sauce.
I'm thinking the only answer that I'm going to get is 'cotton swab and alcohol', but I figured I would ask in case there are any tips to doing it more thoroughly.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Run it through a car wash, or better yet the dishwasher. That ought to do it!

If moisture got inside and you did not remove the battery at once, it is probably fried beyond repair.

It still works perfectly since nothing got in the battery compartment.
My question was more to do with giving it a good detailed cleaning.
I wiped it down pretty good but I can still see some behind the keyboard.
Is there a way to field strip it (take it apart minimally) so that I can clean it a little better, or does anyone have any tools or techniques that would be helpful?
It's not really a big deal, I'm just a neat freak.
Thanks for the help everyone.

I have no doubt that you will be able to find a photo series or video disassembly demonstration, from which you could evaluate your options. My opinion is I would leave well enough alone at this point, if it's working ok. Do whatever external cleaning you can do with a microfibre cloth and q-tips, but do not take anything apart.

The internet is a wonderful place.

YouTube - blackberry 9630 disassembly

But I agree with Ira, don't take it apart if it's working fine.

You both have a good point.
I could possibly mess something up while taking it apart, putting it back together, or (probably most likely) while cleaning it.
I think I will leave it as it is for now, but it is still good to know that I do have that option available to me.
Thank you all for your help and thank you devnull for the link!
