I just got new bb for the first time a few days ago and can't listen to an online radio station called nsbradio (new school breaks) radio. It's pretty much the only reason i've upgraded my old phone for a bb. I've downloaded opera and this doesn't seem to make any difference. Can anyone here help please ? Thanks

I have a 1gig a month data plan. Is that what you mean?

You need a plan that specifically says "BlackBerry". Regular carrier data plans simply will not get it done with BlackBerrys. They're a whole different animal.

Most smartphones use data they get form the carrier. BlackBerrys get their data from RIM through the carrier. Hence the need for a legit BlackBerry plan.

O.k, i've checked with technical support and have been told it's a blackberry carrier. Is there another way I can check? I am on a 3 contractin u.k. Cheers.

You need to call the Customer Support for 3 and ask them if your data plan is a BlackBerry Data Plan.

Ok. Is your data working properly otherwise?

Bear in mind that many (really most) internet streams are not compatible with the BlackBerry Browser. What type of stream is it? What format?

Since you stated that "pretty much the only reason i've upgraded my old phone for a bb" was streaming this radio, did you confirm that it is compatible?

You might try a third party radio app such as Tune In Radio to see if you can get the stream there.

BlackBerry App World has a TON of choices for this.

doing some reading on their web site they indicate they support Winamp, windows media player, Real player and Itunes. Also the data stream is 24 kb or 128 kb. I would suggest you have a full unlimited data plan if your intending on making this run full time.

Although they offer a blackberry connection, i only receive"connection refused"

they may be overloaded.
