Default Playbook videochat connection problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I have been using Videochat for over a month now, from my wireless high speed internet access. Ive talked to people on high speed connections as well. We all have experienced, from time to time, instances where when trying to connect to someone else, we get the message that the other person is not available, even though we know for a fact that they are and that the do not disturb is off.

Any idea what this might be? Ive tried two different routers, changed the encryption settings, channels and firewall, but not to avail...

This is making it a lot less reliable a tool when you have to call the person first to know if they pb is on...

Thanks in advance...

JF

Default Re: Playbook videochat connection problem

I've been trying to use the Video Chat application and I'm getting the message "Video Chat Service Error" and "Unable to connect to the Video Chat Service". Any helpful suggestions?

Default Re: Playbook videochat connection problem

Unable to connect to serve can occur When a backup file is created in a previous version of BlackBerry® Tablet OS and restored to a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet running OS 1.0.5, the BlackBerry PlayBook is unable to reconnect to a video chat server because the current certificates have been replaced with the older certificates contained within the backup file.

Note: If the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ is on a network that is behind a firewall, which is restricting network traffic, see below.

BlackBerry PlayBook Video Chat uses the following ports and porting forwarding must be enabled for the application to work onxa traffic restricted network:

443 (TCP)
3478 (TCP)
3478 (UDP)
45535 to 65535 (UDP)
