I don't beleive so.

This message appears letting you know your request to connect to the network has been denied since you don't have Blackberry plan.

I get this same message when I use a prepaid SIM in my 8700c. You'll have to get used to it or get a BB plan.

Remove xxx8220;Data Connection Refused.xxx8221;

1. Scroll to the options
2. Scroll to network option
3. Set the selection mode as manual
4. Scan for network
5. Select you network
6. Then set the Selection mode back to automatic
7. Then it should now show your default operator eg xxx8220;O2-UKxxx8221; instead of xxx8220;Data Connection Removedxxx8221;

Tried and works on my BLACKBERRY 7100V OS4.1.0.256

You will need to perform these steps every time you Turn off the Blackberry. I have only been able to test this with a 7100v using a pay and go O2 Sim Card please PM Me if successful with another Provider or Phone Model

Interesting, yet I don't understand the point of having a BlackBerry without a BB data plan. Kind of like buying a lead but not owning a dog!!!

Don't ask me....I work for a service provider so I can't give you an unbiased answer!!!!

What I will say is look at getting a voice and data plan together as you may save money this way. O2 certainly have some decent consumer propositions at the moment, especially if you travel with your BlackBerry.

I actually want to do this because I'm looking for a good, reliable phone with full featured PDA functionality but don't necessarily need the push email functionality. I've heard lots of bad things about the Treo, so I don't want to get that. The MDA uses windows mobile 5.0 which isn't supported on the Mac yet, so that won't work for me.

Thanks for the tips!
