I'm confused - how do you actually enable the push option? When I go to this site I just see a portal.

Click on PUSH Services => Weather => Add New Location => Type in City and State => Subscirbe.

You will receive 2 updates a day either on your Browser or in Messages (User Defined)

Enjoy!

Cool front page. But when I click on the Push Services link, I get "Sorry, we're unable to identify your handheld...." and something about using a wrong browser. I've tried the two browsers on my 7100t with no difference.

Then I remembered the Emulation Mode setting in the browser options. I only have "Blackberry" as an option (though I had others like "Internet Explorer" before I upgraded to 4.0).

Anyway, I'd appreciate it if someone could show me how to get the push services to work...

My real question is, does this cost any money somehow?

I just know things can go wrong like this. I don't want to rack up charges.

There aren't SMSes associated with this, for example?

Gee two messages/day = 60/month. And that's just for the weather. If anyone is on metered plan this could hurt over time. That said it's extremely cool!

I used this and its very odd. Using the "default" theme on the 7100t, i get a planet icon in the top center of the device. I'd never seen this before, went to my messages and there it was again. I guess this is for push services, what type of message is this?

If anyone is worrying about racking up sms fees, just enable it, get the message, and then go to the weather page. Then get the link fromt he browser and bookmark it. This is just a normal page. I bookmarked it for checking weather on the fly since it has really cool animations.

I get the same, but everything else on the page works great - this is a really well done site!

If someone knows why the error comes up about being unable to identify the browser type, I would greatly appreciate a response...

just remember to upgrade to OS 4 as the browser will support the SVG markup.

I am very sure that there will be other push services in the future. Maybe traffic reports, stocks, news, etc.. just to name a few.
